Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Intellectual Property Policy

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) has developed this Intellectual Property Policy, in the wide sense, including intellectual and industrial property, with the objective of creating an important intellectual property portfolio and, more important, of transferring it to the productive sector, facilitating its exploitation.

This policy includes aspects such as the participation of the University in the intellectual property of R&D results, the different ways of commercialisation of intellectual property and the participation of inventors in the economic benefits. These issues may be useful for orienting other Spanish universities.
